ACECC – 2020 New Year and 4th Annual Celebration
On January 9, 2020, Florida Asian Services attended the 2020 New Year and 4th Annual Celebration organized by America-China Enterprise Chamber of Commerce (Florida Chapter). The meeting was held from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Kovens Conference Center in Florida International University Biscayne Bay Campus at Biscayne Bay, FL.
FAS set up a booth for Census 2020 at the entrance, opposite to the check-in table, of the ballroom. During the reception time, participants dropped by FAS table for information on Census 2020. FAS prepared English and Chinese bilingual postcards and Chinese flyers on the table. Few seniors dropped by the table and asked assistance on signing up to work for Census. Leaders from the Chinese communities also took photos of the bilingual postcard to send out to their members via WeChat.
At the event, Joshua Ho was invited give a short speech on the stage for civic engagement. He mentioned the importance of responding to Census 2020 and voting to the Asian community. His speech is in English and was translated into Chinese by the host.
