CSCCA Celebrate Chinese New Year – Year of the Rat
On February 1, 2020, Florida Asian Services attended the Chinese New Year – Year of the Rat Celebration co-organized by Coral Springs Chinese Cultural Association and Chinese Cultural Association of South Florida at Boca Raton. The meeting was held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Olympic Heights High School, FL.
FAS set up a booth for Census 2020 with bilingual postcard in English and Chinese on basic information on Census. FAS also displayed the number from the previous Census in Florida to show how Census response is important to representation of different ethnicities in Florida. It was the first time FAS included the Wheel of Fortune Quiz Game for Census 2020. Many Chinese students dropped by the table to take the Census pop-quiz and learnt about Census 2020.
During the dinner time of the event, FAS went from table to table to distribute Census goodies to participants reminding parents to response to Census when they receive the Census invitation letter in the upcoming month. After the event, FAS dropped off the English and Chinese bilingual postcards to the two Chinese language schools to distribute to their students.
