Miami Citizenship Week Kicks Off

10 days of activities include a 4-day virtual Mega Citizenship Clinic and a Scholarship to cover immigration fees for eligible immigrants

Miami, FL – With a theme of Food. Family. Freedom, the Office of New Americans of Miami-Dade kicks off Miami Citizenship Week, 10 days of virtual events (see calendar below), aiming to highlight the contributions of Miami’s thriving immigrant community.

Tune in for a live stream on our Facebook page as we kick-off Miami Citizenship Week, featuring a local resident sharing the story of their pathway to citizenship. This is just the beginning of the many celebratory events we have planned in honor of New American businesses in our community.

The week will also include a Mega Citizenship Clinic Sept 16-19, to provide free legal support to thousands of South Floridians eligible to start their naturalization process and become new American citizens. Due to the pandemic, this year the Mega Clinic will be hosted virtually making it easier for applicants to participate from home. Applicants can register for free at:

Knowing that the high cost of naturalization fees is one of the barriers for millions of eligible immigrants to become citizens, the Office of New American is offering free scholarships which will be revealed before the Mega Clinic.
